OUR APPROACH TO TRAINING
Most of the works/activities of CEFRIEF are conducted in communities where the members live and practical ecological design work are done locally. The most effective strategy is to train and enable the farming communities in ecological farming and intensive crop production techniques. This teaches environmental protection and practical skills to produce healthy and delicious food while farming in love with nature. Training is 80% practical and 20% theory as people learn best through hands-on-experience. Therefore, training is both theoretical and practical when work and examples are put on the ground.
Other training elements involved in Community Based Trainings include General Home/School Hygiene and Sanitation, Food security, Nutrition, Farm integration and management, Diversification of farm enterprises, value addition, livestock rearing and management, Soil fertility and Water conservation management, Crop establishment management and protection, Seed Management, Agro-forestry and Food Forest Gardening Enterprises, Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Environmental conservation practices, Making Ecological fertilizers and bio fertilizers, Water Harvesting, Nursery bed establishment and management, Personal Financial management and Freedom ,Vermiculture , Gender equality, Post Harvesting Handling, Gender Action Learning Systems (GALS) Group Dynamic and Leadership and farmer participatory extension systems.
CEFRIEF involves everyone in the family to ensure the right foundation of integrated ecological farming and sustainability of the household based projects.
